The Gospel of John

Join us beginning January 18th at 5 PM in the Sanctuary as Ray Wells leads us in this Bible Study!

Throughout John’s Gospel, Jesus makes seven “I am” statements that provide insight into who He is and what He came to do.

In each of them, He makes an implicit claim to be one in essence with the God of Israel. He shows us His character and teaches us something about His nature. He asks us to believe in Him and trust that He is who He said He is.

He is one with God the Father, a shepherd who will lead us and protect us, truth we can trust above all else, light from heaven, bread of life, a vine we can grow with, and water to satisfy our thirsty souls.

Session Topics:
1. Bread of Life
2. Light of the World
3. Gate of the Sheep and Good Shepherd
4. Resurrection and the Life
5. The Way, the Truth, and the Life
6. The True Vine

Better – A Study of Hebrews

In this verse-by-verse study of the Book of Hebrews, Jen Wilkin explores how God “provided something better for us” in the person of Jesus Christ (Heb. 11:40). Through stories of Old Testament heroes and practices, the author of Hebrews demonstrates how the new covenant is superior to the old and how Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of every promise. Explore familiar verses in context of the entire Bible, learning how to place your hope and faith in Christ alone.

Join us on Tuesdays, from 9-11AM in the Family Life Center. Linda F. will lead this 20-week Bible study!

In Beyond Free, we’ll study the power of obedience and what holds us in the chains of defeat. Galatians 5:1 offers a past-tense promise with a present tense punch. Jesus set us free, so we could live in freedom…now.  It says we must stand our ground, and not be burdened again by any form of slavery.

In this study, we’ll study and pray, binding ourselves to two staunch beliefs. First, freedom is real because Jesus offered it. He wouldn’t have teased us with it if it weren’t true. Second, freedom is neither perfection nor permission.
