Journey to the Cross

The joy of Palm Sunday, the disappointment of Judas’ betrayal, the devastation of the crucifixion…the Journey to the Cross is filled with sacrifice, reflection, gratitude, prayer, fasting and so much more!

Be our guest April 11-14, 2022 in the Family Life Center as local pastors speak on topics relating to the journey of Jesus to the cross.

We genuinely hope you’ll plan to participate as the Jennings community comes together Monday through Thursday, 11:50am-12:45pm, to honor the Savior who died and rose for us all. (Lunch will be served daily.)

Whether you’re a lifelong believer, a new believer, or just looking to find more meaning to this holiday, join us to find it in Journey to the Cross.

I Give Up – The Secret Joy of a Surrendered Life

But I don’t want to surrender! It’s normal. It’s natural. It’s human to want to be in control. But when your need for peace surpasses your desire for control, God–who truly uses all things for our good–demonstrates how much we can trust him. Though surrender sometimes flies in the face of our instincts, hopes, and dreams, it’s never without benefit. A surrendered life includes the surprise of a truly full and satisfying existence where trust is reasonable, reconciliation is possible, and relationships can heal.

Be our guest and join us for a 5 week Bible Study, beginning on March 2nd. It will be held in the Foundations classroom in the refuge building.

LifeShare Blood Drive

Pre-register HERE to avoid a line.

Donate

One in three people will need blood at some time in their life. When someone in the communities we serve needs blood, it is our responsibility to have it safe and readily available. The only way we can do that is through your donations.

With no substitute for human blood, volunteer blood donations save lives right here in our community every day. If you can give blood, please do. If you can’t, please encourage and support others who can and help spread the word. Donating blood only takes a short amount of time a few times a year, or when you are eligible.

The blood donation process generally follows these steps:

  • Before giving blood, make sure that you meet the requirements, get a good night’s sleep, eat regular meals and drink plenty of fluids.
  • After you present a photo ID and read the information sheet you will undergo a mini-exam (temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and iron level) and then provide confidential answers to health history questions.
  • The donation takes place in a comfortable chair. Most donors feel a slight prick when the needle is inserted and nothing after that.
  • After the donation, you should sit down and have a snack and beverage. If you experience any light-headedness let your donor technician know and lie down until you feel better. Do not use tobacco products for the next 30 minutes. Leave the arm bandage on and do not engage in strenuous activity or lift heavy objects for the next two to four hours. For the next 24 – 48 hours be sure to increase fluid intake.

Who Can Give?

Anyone at least 16 years of age, weighing at least 110 pounds, and is in good health can donate blood.

Sixteen-year-olds must submit a permission form signed by a parent or guardian.

Some people may be temporarily or permanently prevented from donating blood due to certain health conditions. If you have a question about your eligibility to donate blood, contact your local LifeShare office.

WHAT IS GENERATE ALL ABOUT?

You serve students during a great and important time. We know that there are many resources, and even many camps available that can serve your needs. These days are critical in the faith formation of your students. At GENERATE our team will work hard to serve you and your needs well while creating an experience that will impact the other 51-weeks in your ministry year. We are strategic and intentional to create experiences where the name of Jesus is lifted up, where the Gospel is proclaimed through the preaching and studying of the Word, and where not only are students encouraged to take the next step in their faith journey, but the challenge and opportunity to be a person of global impact is clear. These experiences happen in times of personal devotion, in small group times of reading, listening and responding, in group building and serving, in times of corporate worship, and in strategic times with your church.

In the end, a camp can’t really change a life, but a real experience with God can. We don’t want to simply create moments. We want to partner with you and be a part of moments that matter through the work of God.

What begins with a mysteriously healed bird leads to people suddenly cured of their misery and misfortune all over town. But the overwhelming crush of notoriety and press attention soon takes its toll on Sara. Will her family be able to save their miracle girl before it’s too late?

Rhythms of Renewal

REST. RESTORE. CONNECT. CREATE.

The one question Rebekah Lyons hears from those she meets around the country is, “As I begin to experience freedom, what practical steps can I take each day for sustained emotional, spiritual and relational health?”

In Rhythms of Renewal you will walk through four practical rhythms to establish in your life - Rest, Restore, Connect, Create - that will help you discover how to:

  • Take charge of your emotional health, and inspire loved ones to do the same.
  • Overcome anxiety with daily habits that strengthen you mentally and physically.
  • Find joy through restored relationships in your family and community.
  • Walk in confidence with the unique gifts you have to offer the world.

Rhythms of Renewal will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 19th at 6pm in the Young Couple's room.

Elijah Bible Study

Old Testament heroes are best known for their most celebrated moments: Moses dividing the Red Sea; David slaying Goliath; Gideon routing an insurmountable army; Joshua marching around the defiant walls of Jericho. And Elijah—calling down fire on Mount Carmel.

Blinded by the remarkable narratives of our biblical heroes, we can forget they each had a backstory—months and years of development, even difficulty, which fortified their spiritual muscle and prepared them for the tasks that made their lives unforgettable.

Join our 7-week Women's Bible Study on Elijah

  • Starting Tuesday, January 11
  • 2 times to choose from: 10am or 6pm
